West Baton Rouge Museum will host a family workshop on Saturday, July 13 from
10 AM – Noon which includes an interactive museum theater presentation, “Spinning Tales with Juliette
Gordon Low.” This performance is a portrayal of the founder of Girl Scouts of the USA. Come hear
about her adventurous life and amazing accomplishments in a first person presentation which will be
followed by spinning, weaving and blacksmithing demonstrations and a hands-on activity.

This program is being offered in conjunction with the Prepared for Life: Scouting in West Baton Rouge
exhibit which tells the stories of the boys who learned valuable life skills and made lasting friendships in
the Boy Scout troops of West Baton Rouge. The exhibit will also explore the contributions of local Girl
Scouts and the programs that they participated in. The museum will offer interactive programs in
conjunction with the exhibit throughout the summer.
