Calling all campers! Allons! (Let’s go!) An amazing South Louisiana adventure awaits for boys and girls ages 6-12. Glide through history on the Atchafalaya bayous! Learn how our waterways got their names, and come on a journey filled with fiddle music, pirogue water fun, animal escapades, crafts, and Cajun folk tales. Participants will enjoy storytelling, music, art, culture, history, and hands-on activities including games and making art projects to keep. Paddle through Louisiana’s rich culture to do a gumbo of activities including seeing a live alligator, attending a crawfish race, and making file’ and a garde soleil! Museum staff, visiting artists, performers, storytellers, and linguists will lead time travel through the song, dance, foreign language, and nature exploration! The week wraps up with a foot stompin’ Fais Do-Do and Ice Cream Social.
