Join Nanette McCann of A Caring Season Doula and the Museum’s very own Mary Costello for an enriching two-hour Friday evening program that concludes with an additional two hours on Saturday morning on October 28 and 29, 2022. Imagine a welcoming women’s only environment where expectant mothers can draw strength and encouragement from each other and from historical tales of mothers and midwives, modern day pregnancy and postpartum pointers, and relaxing meditative activities.
Instructor, Nanette McCann will share information and lead engaging exercises and empowering discussions to help moms-to-be prepare for pregnancy during Covid times when Telemedicine is the world we live in. Learn how to make healthy lifestyle choices, how to maintain strength and avoid heartburn through nutritious diet tips, and how to read your body and be prepared for the changes each trimester brings. Ms. McCann will also offer ways to prepare for changes at work and for the time when baby comes home.
Mary Costello will share stories of birthing practices from the nineteenth and early twentieth century and lead participants through meditative exercises including a stroll through the landscaped grounds of the West Baton Rouge Museum.
Space is limited. Advanced, paid registration of $80 is required by contacting A Caring Season Doula or by booking online.
