The Museum is pleased to work with skilled artisan, Terry Landry, to present a wood working workshop inside the museum’s barn. Advanced, paid reservations are required due to class size limits.

On Saturday, November 11, 2023, the West Baton Rouge Museum will be taken over by beautiful bugs of the most creative kind! In celebration of the opening weekend of the exhibit, Small Wonders: Insects in Focus, we invite both children and adults crawling with excitement to immerse themselves in the wonder and beauty of tiny creatures captured in human sized photographic images. Depart the museum with a handmade sculpture or a piece of jewelry that reflects the essence of the exquisite detail found in nature’s art.

On November 11, 2023 the West Baton Rouge Museum will open the exhibition entitled Off the Hook: A Journey Beneath the Waves by Katherine Klimitas. This exhibition is Katherine Klimitas’ latest collection of vibrant watercolor paintings. Dive into a sea of tropical fish, swim with dolphins and flee from sharks as you visit her seascapes and coral reefs made up of intricate brush strokes and vivid colors. Flecks of gold, silver, and copper bring life to each watercolor creation.

By using cutting-edge technology and custom methods, artist Bob Sober created Small Wonders: Insects in Focus, an exhibition of breathtaking beauty that allows viewers to see this hidden world like they’ve never seen it before. Small Wonders aims to inspire, in an artistic way, our natural curiosity to understand the form, function, and diversity of nature.
